• "The Dick Van Dyke Show" is honored with an award for Best TV Series on DVD at the Third Annual DVD Exclusive Awards (12/2.) Dick Van Dyke, who was intensively involved in this release along with creator Carl Reiner, was on hand to receive the award with the producer of the release, Paul Brownstein.

• Easter-egg on Season #2 DVD:
  Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore aren't keen to remind viewers that they once did Kent cigarette commercials as Rob and Laura Petrie. That's why the ads were hidden on the set. On many episodes, go to the individual episode menu, highlight "Opening Titles" and press left to make Rob's head light up; press enter.

• A new baby girl!
  Mary Van Dyke wrote: "...our second granddaughter was born Dec 8.?

  The five-DVD sets contain uncut versions of the shows from 1961-62 and 1962-63
